Award winning photojournalist Stephen Jaffe is currently freelancing based in Washington, DC. Jaffe had been the official photographer of the International Monetary Fund for almost 18 years before retiring. Prior to the IMF, Jaffe was a staff photographer at Agence France Press where he covered news and sports. Jaffe has been a professional photographer for more than 40 years. He received his undergraduate degree from James Madison University and did his graduate work at Ohio University. Jaffe has photographed everything from the Berlin Wall, World Summits, Olympics, Super Bowl, politics and conflicts. Jaffe has traveled to 6 continents and over 110 countries to photograph stories. His pictures have graced the covers of Time Magazine, Newsweek along with hundreds of other magazines and newspapers around the world. He has won numerous awards including White House Newsphotographer Association, Pictures of the Year and a first place in the prestigious World Press contest. He has worked with digital photography and Photoshop since its infancy. Jaffe is a known for his fly on the wall approach to photography where discretion is needed. Jaffe is also known to exceed expectations and deliver memorable moments on deadline. He is currently taking assignments.
